Technology News, Tips & Community for Parks & Recreation Professionals

Dear Colleagues

I am a leisure professional from across the pond, not sure of how many we are on the site at the moment but as word spreads I hope I will be joined by others. I am interested to know whether there are any examples of public leisure organisations using SAP , ERM or CRM systems or whether there are any ERP solutions between known suppliers of point of sale and customer service systems? If there are do they a UK sister company, contact or website? Happy to receive any leads which I can follow up. Regards
David

That's a good question David. I would imagine it would only be the larger organizations that would be using this type of more sophisticated software....and even then, probably in the context of a city/town wide initiative to do so. I know SAP is the traditional big dog in this area, but there have been many more players who have entered the market from SalesForce to 37Signals and a number of open source options that offer what would probably be considered more cost-effective and accessible offerings....... So, it will be interesting to see if adoption in the rec/leisure space picks up.

Many thanks for the info - whilst larger organisations may need the extra flexibility offered by some software solutions, getting close to the customer has got to be big business for the leisure/rec sector. With such an intensive people focus it is still surprising that we continue to remain behind the times.
